In terms of an electrical machine, a loss can be defined as the difference between the power that goes in it, which is the input and the output power. Transformer Manufacturers try to make these devices so as to get the highest output and to achieve greater efficiency. Being a static device, the mechanical losses in a transformer are non-existent. So, there are only electrical losses in a transformer. These losses are of different kinds and some of them are explained below:
